Wrong-way accident leaves multiple victims injured

On Behalf of | Nov 29, 2018 | Car Accidents

Driving on an interstate or high-speed highway can be stressful. When traffic is heavy or conditions are unfavorable, a Massachusetts driver may decide to take things slow to ensure they are able to make good decisions on these roads when others may be driving irresponsibly. While drivers are often able to avoid collisions on highways by driving defensively and staying alert, reckless individuals can still cause injuries and harm by their devastating acts.

Not long ago, several vehicles were involved in a serious accident on I-495 near Norton. A vehicle entered the interstate going the wrong way and crashed into at least two other vehicles. As a result, six people in the two affected cars were injured and taken to hospitals. An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway, although law enforcement officials have announced that the driver of the wrong-way vehicle was killed in the accident. All of the victims are expected to survive their injuries.

Car accidents are terrifying for victims because there may not be anything they can do to avoid serious collisions and horrific injuries. A wrong-way driver may not have the capacity to stop before colliding with another car that is traveling in the right direction; drivers following the rules may not have time or space to act defensively to avoid a crash that may change the course of their lives.

Recovery is likely the priority for the victims in this tragic story. As they mend, it may be important for them to discuss their legal options for seeking compensation with attorneys that are prepared to represent their interests in court.
